Founded in 2015, Resurgens Impact Consulting (RIC) is a collaborative of nonprofit experts who work to connect ideas to funding and strengthen nonprofits’ leadership.

Our Vision: RIC envisions a world where social service organizations have access to resources, and are empowered to meet the needs of communities they serve and nurture a just, equitable society.

Betty Barnard, MNPO, GPC

Betty’s personal mission is to grow the capacity of organizations and systems to meet the needs of underserved communities. She is a graduate of The University of Georgia’s Master’s of Nonprofit Organizations and Women’s Studies Graduate Certificate programs. Betty has over seven years of experience in fundraising and grantsmanship with private foundations, corporate sponsors and federal program offices. Since becoming a consultant, Betty has helped clients net over $32 million in federal grants and private foundation funds. Betty has a Grant Professional Certification from the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Grant Professionals Association.


Irene Turner, LMSW

Irene is a 2013 graduate of The University of Georgia’s Master’s of Social Work program. She completed the Community Empowerment and Program Development track and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management. Irene has a strong foundation in assessing social services clients’ needs and the practical skills to bring a community response to fruition. She is experienced in working with a variety of populations such as prisoners, domestic violence survivors, and students, Irene possesses a fluency in translating community deficits into compelling case statements. She is an experienced grant writer in both private and federal fields and in 2017 net clients $4 million in grant funding. Irene’s skills also include facilitation, training, partnership and strategy development, and community engagement. She is a talented, passionate advocate and current member of the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute.
